It feels so close to me, yet I can't reach it even if I hold out my hands. But even if I can't reach it, there are things that will stay in my heart. Being in the same time and looking at the same sky – if I can remember that, then even if we are far apart, I believe we can still be together.

A Day to Remember
I can say that I am more excited than what they feel because it's like a first time for me and I don't know why I feel that way.
Our first destination was the Science Discovery in Mall of Asia. It's wonderful inside and when we went inside, we saw a sign welcoming the CNSHS students. There are games, videos, displays and other activities. I remembered the global warming thingy when we jumped while saying “Jump, Baby Bear” for many times. It felt good in the earthquake booth lol.
The next stop is the Myth of the Human Body where we saw real people that undergone plasticity to preserve their body parts. It smells somewhat unpleasant. I saw babies that are of different age. I liked the stairs because it’s the same as what I see on animes.
After this, we went in the Kulturang Pinoy where we had many activities like dancing and singing. CNSHSians didn't hide their talents, they even dance and sing. There’s even a pick-up line contest between the sophomores, juniors and seniors. Chosen students danced while being videoed and were shown to us afterwards and there was this student who is sleeping. Everyone laughed. After this is a video presentation that made me cries because I can remember my grandfather. But in all-in-all, I really had fun.
Actually, we should go to Luneta Park but because of very hot weather, we didn't pursue the plan to go there. And while in the bus, we had some fun, some of us showed their talents in singing and I can say that CNSHSians are really talented. Our tour guide is very loquacious, he talks very much but it’s fine because it made the trip more enjoyable.
The best part of the field trip is the malling in MOA. I went together with Janelle, Grace and, Wialyn and his girlfriends. Jirah and I went to Comic Alley first and I was very excited about it because it’s my first time to go in Comic Alley. I really enjoy looking inside because animes have been a part of my life. Without knowing, Jirah already left me and since I’m not familiar in MOA, I’m scared. And so, I walked looking around and felt that I’m FA or Forever Alone lol. I went to Fully Booked because I think my companions were there because they are all fond of books. And then, I remember National Bookstore and so, I went inside the mall and looked inside the bookstore. Fortunately, they were inside. I was relieved lol. We went back to Fully Booked and planned to give someone a gift for Christmas and Wialyn knew about it. Afterwards, we watched the fireworks and had some picture-takings. And even inside the restaurant, we still had some picture-takings. We sat on a bench and told each other not to forget about this place, the bench, and the time we sat there.
That day was just too wonderful to forget. Those moments with my friends were undefinable and will always be here in my heart. That was a great time with my classmates though there were some conflicts between us. I just hope that we go to Mall of Asia on Dec. 3 after watching the play.

Preparing for my Future...

That's why an examination is invented, for us, students to know the course fitted for us. This is what they call, NCAE or National Career Assessment Examination. Mostly, fourth year students are the one who get this exam but surprisingly this year, third year students were the one who take it.

This NCAE, as what we all know, helps the students to choose their course according to their ability. It tests them on different subject area like the mathematical ability, scientific ability, verbal and nonverbal ability, reading comprehension, clerical ability, manipulative skills and entrepreneurial ability. This examination will let us know in what subject we are really excelling at.
This is very helpful for the high school students because they will go to college after their high school. But this tests doesn't mean that you should get that course because it is still you who will choose if you will follow your desire or the result of this test. This is just a preparation for your future.

Tree of My Life
When I was a child, I always compare myself to animals and insects. I always think of what animal would I be if I’m not a human. But comparing me to a tree never comes to my mind. I never thought of becoming a tree. But now, I realized that trees are really important not only to us but to everything in this world. Now, I already knew that nothing will live long if trees do not exist. Our world would be nothing but an ugly place to stay if these trees will be cut up to point that nothing will be left.
This time, I realized that all trees are “giving trees” because they give us everything we need. For me, comparing myself to a tree makes me feel like I’m much honored because I can also be compared to a tree. I can say that I’m a tree with big trunks, multiple branches, and green leaves. This tree is very popular in the Philippines because it is our national tree, the Acacia Tree.
Acacia tree is a tall tree about 20-25 m. Its branches are widespread and its bark is rough and furrowed. From what we know, acacia tree does not bear flowers but surprisingly, it is. It bears a pink and beautiful flower.
I chose this tree because this tree has many uses aside from its characteristics. This tree is widely known for its hard and heavy trunk use to make chairs, tables, furniture and such. Its flower is also used as decorations. Its leaves give shade to people who are tired of working or those who wants to rest.
I can consider myself a “giving tree” because on my own little way, I can help people who need me. Also, I want to make people happy by helping them in such way that I won’t hurt other people. I also want to show them that I can take any risk for someone especially those who are really special for me. I can say I am a “giving tree” because I can also give or sacrifice many things for the sake of others.

A DREAM COME TRUE...

The Intramurals 2011 began. Everyone was so excited. It started with a cheer dance prepared by each year. Everyone was shouting the name of their team; Green Chevrolet for freshmen, Yellow Lamborghini for sophomores, Red Ferrari for juniors and Blue Porsche for the seniors. I was amazed because everyone was so active and full of energy.
After the cheer dance competition, the Mr. and Ms. Physique representatives of each year ramped around the court with their most graceful walk to fascinate all the Sayanistas, especially the judges. The flags, made by each team, were raised to officially start the Intramurals 2011.
The real game started and the students went to the place where they will play while those who will not play yet cheered their teammates. I played sack race, but I really want volleyball. The Blue Porsche and the Red Ferrari had a tie so the game was repeated. Unfortunately, we lose. I watched the other games and was so happy because everyone was having fun.
The next day, was the main event, the Blue Porsche’s basketball team versus the Red Ferrari’s basketball team. From the first day up to the second day of the intramurals, everyone is still enjoying and energetic.
I wish this day will never end. Now, we can prove that the CNSHS students were not just academically inclined but also physically active. No one can say that we only have brains because we also have the ability to play sports. I really had fun with the Intramurals 2011. My tiredness is worth it. Thank you YSC. GO FERRARI, GO, GO FERRARI!!! I’m so happy that we won the 2.5th place in the over- all ranking. RED FERRARI’s gonna rock your world.

Sonnet 116 of William Shakespeare
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
A. RECALLING
1. List 3 or 4 things that love is not according to Sonnet 116.
· Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove.
· Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle's compass come.
· Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks.
· Love does not admit impediments.
2. List several things that love is according to Sonnet 116.
· Love is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken.
· Love is the star to every wandering bark, whose worth's unknown, although his height is taken.
· Love bears it out even to the edge of doom.
B. INTERPRETING
1. What is the meaning of the image of the star in lines 7-8? How does the image apply to love?
· It is a North Star that sailors use, especially those who are lost, in lieu of a compass to orient themselves which way to follow.
· Love is like a North Star, simply because people follow and depend in love in times of problems. And also, love serves as a guide for them to know the right way to go. Just like a star, love brightens our world when we are facing difficult problems.
C. EXTENDING
1. Do you agree or disagree with the speaker's interpretation of love? Why or why not?
· I agree. Because I believe that love is an ever- fixed mark, it doesn’t change whatever happens unless it is not true love. Also, love is like a star because it lights up our world in dark moments of our life. And lastly, love is really eternal, and everlasting love will never end until the end of the world.

What if...
Ma'am May: Ah. I see. What questions do you want to ask?
Joseph: What if next grading I'm not in the top ten anymore?
Ma'am May: I don't think you want that to happen.
Joseph: Of course, ma'am! I have decided to study harder this grading to prove that I'm worth it with my position.
Ma'am May: That's the spirit, Joseph.
Joseph: What if I didn't make it this quarter?
Ma'am May: It's okay but better if you will be. Lately, I had realized that studying hard is not the only way to maintain your position in the top ten.
Joseph: But what are those things that I can do to retain my honor?
Ma'am May: I know that you have learned that time management can help you; because with this, you can do your tasks on time, and you will not cram; because I hate cramming when I was in high school and college.
Joseph: Ah. I'll try that because I am very sure that your advice will really help me to maintain or even have a higher position in the ranking.
Ma'am May: Your performances in school should also be good because this is included in the grading system.
Joseph: Okay ma'am. Thank because you had taught me many things for just only a few minutes of talking.
Ma'am May: No problem with me. Do you have any other questions?
Joseph: None ma'am. I think I had asked all my questions already. Now, I have realized that I can still have a higher position ,and that I should not be contented to my rank, and that I should show them that I'm worthy with my position.
Ma'am May: Yes. I think it's already your Physics time, you better go back to your room.
Joseph: Thank you ma'am for spending a short time entertaining my questions. Goodbye, ma'am.
Ma'am May: Goodbye.

"Evelyn Diquit: My Modern Day Hero"
She's irresistible,
So responsible,
And very lovable
She loves her family
Cause it's her priority
More than anything else,
In this world of ours
You are one of the heroes,
With no superpowers
But can still be the best,
Among the rest

Music is What Life Sounds Like...

Stomping feet. Clapping Hands. Chirping birds. Rustling leaves. Ticking clocks.
This prove that our world is full of music. Music that has been part of our lives since we were young. Music that is made up of rhythms with melody and harmony.
Everyone can produce music, even the softest sound you can make. Everywhere we can hear sounds which are considered music though it's simple. Everytime we can make our own music, full of feelings where you can express all your thoughts and emotions. Each one of us enjoy music in different ways. Some of us express their feelings through it. While others dance with the music. But most of us, we sing it through our hearts. No one can say that it is not important. Because we know that music is very IMPORTANT in our lives. Maybe, some of you would disagree; but, why don't you ask yourself if you can live without music, without hearing any sound?
